The Knutsford Town Plan

This site has been established to provide an information and communication portal for the Knutsford community. The Knutsford Town Plan was created based on information provided by over 2,600 local residents in response to the questionnaire published in Spring of 2009.

The Knutsford Town Plan contains a collection of ideas and specific action plans that cover all aspects of our local community. The primary purpose of the plan is to ensure that we create and sustain a community that we all want. The town plan was unanimously adopted by the Knutsford Town Council in Spring of 2010 and now the Knutsford Town Plan Implementation Committee are working continuously to ensure that the recommended action plans contained within the plan will be implemented.

The work of the Knutsford Town Plan organisation is undertaken by volunteers. Local residents who want to ensure that the town centre, it's environment and all of its facilities are improved and maintained to a high standard. It is a non political organisation funded by grants and donations from various bodies including Cheshire East Council and Knutsford Town Council.

The Town Plan survey of 2009 was the first and most comprehensive survey of local resident and local business views. The Knutsford Town Plan Report and Action Plan was prepared following in-depth analysis of the large number of responses to the Survey Questionnaire. Six Working Group consisting of volunteers was allocated to each of the six topics identified in preliminary surveys. These working groups collated all of the views expressed by the community, and then thoroughly researched each of the topics. This included many meetings with agencies and individuals. More than 5,000 hours of volunteers’ experience and expertise have produced this report as a review of the opinions of Knutsford people. A comprehensive research project that would normally have cost many tens of thousands of pounds. But the highest value of the report, is that it has come straight from the community itself.
